We employ approximately 500 full- and part-time employees, called associates, who all have an integral part in publishing the local daily newspaper, as well as other printed publications and interactive services. The Gazette launched its website in August 1994, becoming one of the nation's first newspapers to go online. Today the Internet Enterprise includes gazette.com, coloradosprings.com, peakhomes. com, springswheels.com, springsjobs.com, pikespeakparent.com and numerous other websites. The network generates about 5 million pageviews a month and is an important contributor to The Gazette's financial performance. A wholly-owned subsidiary, The Gazette is part of a family-owned media company called Freedom Communications, Inc., with headquarters in Irvine, California. Freedom publishes 27 daily newspapers, 35 weekly publications and owns eight broadcast stations across the country.
